Go The Extra Mile?
How about 2800 Extra Miles?

Picture
We recently completed a project for a group of local designers.  A
fairly common project...but
these frames were for an office in
New Orleans.
Our job was easy.  We  were only responsible to
frame the art and ship it to the destination.  In
talking to the  designer we found that their
problem was a lot more complex. They needed to
find someone in New Orleans to unpack the shipment,
determine the  best placement and hang the
art.

No, no, no! We thought it to be too risky for the customer, so we drove down, did the
installation
and drove right back.  Over 2800 miles in four days!  Crazy?  Yup!

Got a lot on your plate?
We've got your back!

Late one Sunday night we received an email from one of our favorite designers with the heading  "SOS".  She needed help and needed it fast!  Her firm was handling the interior design for one of the homes at the Parade of Homes.  A photographer  from the Post Standard was going to be there at 1pm on Monday, and she was in desparate need for artwork and mirrors for the dining room.  We arrived for a  consultation at 8am, and quickly decided that this room needed something  completely different.

In a burst of creativity, we came up with the idea for the trio of plates that you see here.   We split up and headed in different directions to locate the plates, beautiful fabric and the materials to build the frames and liners.  We met back at our studio and just a few hours later we were back on-site to install the plates and  a great mirror that completed the look of this stunning ining room!  Find  another framer who would or could do that!

Oh, and the cost  to the designer?  Not one penny.  We're kinda nice that way...and we  just love to show off!

And please don't tell my wife!

A local couple asked us  to frame their most cherished item, a beautiful one of a kind katubah.  (a  katubah is a Jewish wedding contract)  It was amazing!  The finished size was 4  feet by 6 feet, and had custom cut silk mats with arched openings.  They loved  it!

Fast-forward a year, the  couple now lived in Manhattan.  We got a late night call from the husband.  In a  whisper he told about how he had let the frame get wet and the water had gotten  under the glass and soaked into the mat.  He was terrified at  how unhappy  his wife would be.  He didn't even want to admit to us that it had happened, but  he had talked to every framer in NYC and not a single one was willing to try to  replicate the design.  We only had one question for him.  When would be a good  time for us to pick it up to re-do it?

Seriously.  That week we  drove the 250 miles, picked up the frame and brought it back to our shop.  It  took us a few days to recreate the design, and then we hit the road again and  snuck it back into their apartment.  The cost for the repairs?  You guessed  it...not one cent.  It's great to be able
to save a work of art, and even better  to save a marriage!
